What We Do

Azure managed services for the full lifecycle of your cloud data environment.

Running Azure data infrastructure is ongoing work. Pipelines fail, queries slow down as data grows and cloud costs creep up when no one is watching. Our team monitors your environment, fixes problems early and keeps it aligned with the architecture it was designed for.

Clients usually come to us after a build project ends and the internal team cannot cover pipelines, warehouse tuning and security reviews alongside their other work. Some want a full managed service, others want an Azure consultant to back up the team they already have.

We support the core Azure data services, from Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL to Azure Machine Learning, and help you plan what comes next, including Microsoft Fabric.

We Understand Digital Transformation

  • We design, deploy and manage Data Factory pipelines for ETL and ELT workloads. That includes trigger schedules, linked service configuration, failure alerts and run monitoring. When a source system changes, we update the pipeline before it breaks the reports that depend on it.

  • We administer Synapse workspaces, including dedicated SQL pools, serverless queries and data lake integration. Regular performance tuning keeps enterprise analytics workloads fast, and we review pool sizing and pause schedules so you are not paying for capacity you do not use.

  • We manage Azure SQL Database for transactional and reporting workloads, covering schema design, indexing, query tuning, backup configuration and performance monitoring. Slow queries are found and fixed before users notice, and backups are checked so recovery works when you need it.

  • We configure and govern Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, including access control, folder structure and data tiering. Data is organized so downstream processing and analytics services can find it, and older data moves to lower-cost tiers when it is used less often.

  • For large-scale data processing, machine learning pipelines and advanced analytics, we support Azure Databricks environments. We manage clusters, orchestrate notebooks and keep jobs running reliably, and we size clusters so compute costs follow the work being done rather than sitting idle.

  • We help organizations decide whether and when to adopt Microsoft Fabric, then plan the move from older Azure services. That includes OneLake configuration and connecting Fabric to Power BI and Synapse, so you can adopt it in stages without disrupting current reporting.

  • We integrate and support Azure OpenAI and Azure Machine Learning workloads, connecting them to the data pipelines and warehouse you already run. Models and AI features get the same monitoring, access control and cost tracking as the rest of your environment.

  • We use Azure DevOps for version control, CI/CD and release automation of Data Factory and Synapse assets. Changes move through development, staging and production in a controlled way, so a fix in one environment does not break another, and every change can be traced and rolled back.

Your Azure Managed Services Partner

We manage your Azure environment with the same care we apply to building it. Our team brings experience in Azure data warehousing, ETL pipeline development, cloud data migration and data integration, and we explain in plain language what changed and why.

Alphabyte has served 100+ organizations across Canada and the United States since 2015. CISSP and CCSP certified team members review security and access across the environments we support.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Azure managed services are ongoing support for your Azure environment from an outside team. For data workloads that means monitoring pipelines, tuning databases and warehouses, managing access and security, controlling cloud spend and applying updates, so the systems your reporting and analytics depend on keep running without your team handling every issue.

  • An Azure managed service provider takes day-to-day responsibility for running parts of your Azure environment. At Alphabyte we focus on data: Data Factory pipelines, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Lake Storage and Databricks. We monitor them, fix failures, tune performance, review security and advise on what to change as your needs grow.

  • You likely need them when pipeline failures are found by users instead of alerts, when Azure costs rise without a clear reason, when the person who built your environment has left, or when your team spends more time keeping systems running than improving them. They also help after a migration, when a new platform needs close attention.

  • Azure consulting services are usually a defined project, such as designing an architecture, migrating a database or adopting Microsoft Fabric. A managed service is ongoing, covering monitoring, maintenance and improvement month after month. Many clients use both: consulting to build or change the environment, then managed services to run it.

  • No. We often take over Azure environments built by another partner or an internal team. We start with a review of the architecture, pipelines, security and costs, document what we find and fix urgent issues first, then move into regular management.

  • Onboarding usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks. In that time we review your environment, set up monitoring and alerts, document pipelines and access, and agree on how issues are reported and escalated. Larger or less documented environments can take longer, and we confirm the plan after the first review.

  • Cost depends on the number of Azure services and pipelines we support, data volumes, how often things change, the level of monitoring you need and whether you want advisory time included. Azure consumption is billed separately by Microsoft. We scope the service with you after reviewing your environment.

  • We look for savings as part of regular management. We review resource usage, right-size databases and Synapse pools, pause or schedule compute that sits idle, move older data to lower-cost storage tiers and tune slow queries. We report what we changed, so you can see where your spend goes.

  • Yes. We advise on whether and when Fabric fits your data environment, plan the move from older Azure services such as Synapse, configure OneLake and connect Fabric to Power BI. Once it is live, Fabric is managed alongside the rest of your Azure environment.

  • We review access controls, data governance policies and configuration on a regular schedule and flag changes that increase risk. CISSP and CCSP certified team members support this work. We help you meet privacy requirements such as PIPEDA, Canada's federal private-sector privacy law, alongside your own legal and compliance advisors.
