Real-Time Reporting & Dashboards

Delayed reports and disconnected spreadsheets slow decisions at every level. Alphabyte designs and builds real-time reporting that connects directly to your data sources, refreshes on its own and shows the right KPIs to every team and role, from frontline managers to senior leadership.

We work with the leading BI and data platforms, including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, Looker and Qlik Sense, build live dashboards with Claude, and create custom solutions when a standard tool does not fit.

What We Do

Real time reporting services that put current numbers in front of every team.

We connect your systems to purpose-built dashboards, so people see current metrics without manual exports or waiting for a weekly pack. A real time dashboard is not right for every metric, so we agree with you which numbers need live data and which can refresh daily.

Clients usually come to us when operations teams make decisions on yesterday's data, when month-end figures are rebuilt by hand, or when every department reports a different number. We combine ERP, CRM and accounting data into one model, give each metric a clear definition and owner, and automate delivery.

This page covers what we build for you. For the technical side, read our real-time reporting architecture guide. Many clients run real time data analytics on Microsoft Fabric, which brings streaming data, warehousing and Power BI into one platform.

Supported Technologies
We Understand Digital Transformation

  • In Power BI, we build data models, DAX measures and reports, and set refresh schedules that match how current each report needs to be. Workspaces and access are configured so each team sees its own reports, and self-service users build on the same trusted model.

  • Tableau suits teams that want rich visual exploration across complex datasets. We build Tableau dashboards for operational, financial and customer-facing reporting, connect them to live data sources where needed and publish them so people can use them on the web or on mobile.

  • Looker gives data teams a governed modelling layer, so every report calculates metrics the same way. We use it when you need consistent definitions across many dashboards, or analytics embedded in the tools and portals your users already work in.

  • Fabric brings data engineering, warehousing and real-time reporting into one platform. We help organizations move to Fabric or connect it to the Power BI reports they already have, so streaming data and historical data can sit side by side in the same reports.

  • Qlik Sense uses an associative engine that lets people explore data in any direction instead of following a fixed filter path. We support it in environments where users need to find patterns beyond standard reports and where Qlik is already part of the toolset.

  • We build live dashboards and interactive reports with Claude that read from your data as it changes. Teams can see current numbers and ask follow-up questions in plain language. It suits fast, flexible reporting needs and can sit alongside the BI tools you already use.

  • Looker Studio is Google's reporting and dashboard tool and a good fit for organizations working with BigQuery or Google Analytics data. We use it for lightweight, shareable reports that update as the underlying data changes, when a full BI platform is more than you need.

  • Fast reporting needs a fast backend. We design reporting on Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL so dashboards stay responsive as data volumes grow, with models and queries tuned for the questions your teams ask most often and refresh times monitored.

  • We embed reports and dashboards directly into business applications, client portals and internal tools using Power BI Embedded or similar frameworks. People see the numbers inside the systems where they already work, and access rules follow them so each user sees only their own data.

Your Real-Time Reporting Partner

We understand both the technical side of reporting and the operational context that makes it useful. Alphabyte is a Microsoft Solutions Partner in Data & AI and has served 100+ organizations across Canada and the United States since 2015.

We build reporting that teams use because it is fast, accurate and designed around real workflows. When live reporting needs a stronger base, the same team builds the data integration and warehouse underneath it.

We work with mid-market and enterprise organizations across Canada and the United States. Related services: data analytics consulting, executive dashboards and data integration services.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Real-time reporting shows business data as it changes, or within minutes, instead of in a daily or monthly report. Dashboards connect directly to source systems or a streaming data platform and refresh on their own. Teams use it for metrics where waiting has a cost, such as sales, operations, inventory or service levels.

  • With Alphabyte it includes agreeing which metrics need live data, connecting your source systems, building the data model, designing the dashboards and automating refresh and delivery. We also set a definition and owner for every metric, test the numbers against your systems and support the reports after launch.

  • You need one when decisions depend on what is happening now, such as staffing a shift, managing inventory, tracking orders or responding to service issues. If a metric is only reviewed weekly or monthly, a scheduled refresh is simpler and costs less. Most organizations need a mix of both.

  • Scheduled reporting refreshes at set times, for example every morning or every hour, and suits most financial and management reporting. Real-time reporting updates continuously or within minutes and suits operational decisions. It asks more of your data platform, so we use it only where the faster update is worth it.

  • Real time data analytics means analysing data as it arrives rather than after it is stored and processed in batches. It can flag unusual activity, track live operations or update figures during the day. It works best on a well-designed data platform, such as Microsoft Fabric, that handles both streaming and historical data.

  • We work with the leading BI platforms, including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, Looker, Qlik Sense and Looker Studio, build live dashboards with Claude, and have experience with several other industry-leading tools. For the data behind them we use platforms such as Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL, and we embed reports in your applications or build custom dashboards when needed. We recommend tools based on the systems and skills you already have.

  • A first set of live dashboards usually takes about 4 to 8 weeks, including metric design, data connection, build and testing. If your sources need integration work or a new data platform first, plan for longer. We deliver in phases, starting with the metrics that matter most.

  • Cost depends on how many data sources you connect, how current the data must be, data volumes, the number of dashboards and whether new data infrastructure is needed. Faster refresh usually needs more platform capacity. Licences are separate. We scope the work with you after a short discovery.

  • Yes. We often start with the Power BI or Tableau reports you already have, keep what works and move only the metrics that need live data to a faster refresh. Existing definitions and access rules are kept, so your teams keep the reports they know.

  • We set one definition and one owner for each metric, reconcile dashboard figures against source systems before launch and add alerts when a data feed stops or looks wrong. Reporting governance, including access control and version management, keeps reports consistent as more teams use them.
